Today we examine whether or not every work by a master is a masterpiece. There may be some yelling.

Rider: so cool to hear that you’re reading poetry to your baby! I think anything that requires you to vary the pitch/tone of your voice would be good. And if you’re looking for actual children’s books to read him when he’s a bit older (in addition to those amazing literary board books Julia mentioned), I really like the Around the World series by Ann Morris, “Everyone Asked About You” by Theodore Gross, and “The Elephant and the Bad Baby” by Elfrida Vipont. BJ Novak also has a funny one called “The Book with No Pictures.”
Also Tod, I loved “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.” After a while I forgot about the crime at the center of the book and just enjoyed all the characters and place descriptions.
